Corsair Clarifies GTA 6 PC ‘Early 2026’ Release Date Comment

Corsair has stepped in to clarify remarks made by one of its executives regarding the Grand Theft Auto 6 PC release window.

During a financial call, Corsair Gaming’s VP of finance, Ronald van Veen, stated, “Yeah, GTA 6 is probably the one everyone is talking about. And we’ll get a glimpse of that, I think, later on in the year for console. My understanding now is it’s going to come out in the fall for console, and then early 2026 for PC.”

This statement quickly led to speculation that Corsair had inside information on Rockstar’s release plans. However, a company representative later confirmed that van Veen’s comments were purely speculative, emphasizing that Corsair does not receive official release date details from Rockstar or its parent company, Take-Two Interactive.

Take-Two has reaffirmed that GTA 6 is set to launch in fall 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but the PC version remains unannounced. While Rockstar has historically staggered its releases—often launching its biggest titles on consoles first before bringing them to PC—the absence of a confirmed PC launch feels increasingly outdated in today’s gaming landscape.

The delay raises questions about Rockstar’s approach to PC gaming. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, when asked about the company’s platform release strategy, hinted at the possibility of a PC version in the future. He pointed out that Civilization 7 is launching across all platforms simultaneously but noted that Rockstar has traditionally released games in phases.

Fans of the studio are well aware of its track record—titles like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 eventually arrived on PC but only after a significant wait. With GTA 6 expected in late 2025, it’s likely PC players won’t see the game until sometime in 2026.

Back in December 2023, a former Rockstar developer attempted to explain the reasoning behind this staggered release strategy, urging PC gamers to be patient and trust the studio’s process.

For now, the wait continues, but given the sheer scale of GTA 6, it’s almost certain that a PC release is coming—it’s just a matter of when.
