Days Gone Remastered is coming to PlayStation 5 in April 2025, bringing with it a host of new features like permadeath mode, speedrun mode, and more.
Sony unveiled the remastered version of Bend Studio’s post-apocalyptic adventure during its February 2025 State of Play event. Along with improvements such as VRR and PS5 Pro compatibility, the remaster offers several exciting additions. The new gameplay modes include permadeath and speedrun options, enhanced photo mode, and expanded accessibility features. A special arcade mode called Horde Assault challenges players to face off against even larger waves of Freakers, adding a fresh level of difficulty.
Days Gone Remastered will be available starting April 25, 2025. Players who already own the PS4 version of Days Gone can upgrade to the PS5 version for just $10. A trailer showcasing the remastered version can be viewed below.
This remaster is part of Sony’s ongoing effort to bring upgraded versions of PS4 titles to PS5, complete with new content. Days Gone Remastered will join the ranks of other notable re-releases like The Last of Us Part I and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered.
Though Days Gone has already been released on PC, players on that platform won’t miss out on the new features. Sony confirms that PC players can access new modes through the $10 Broken Roads DLC, which also includes enhanced accessibility features, DualSense support, and the improved photo mode.
According to a recent PlayStation.Blog post, Bend Studio emphasized that the remaster was built specifically for PS5, showcasing upgraded visuals that players can enjoy in either Performance or Quality mode. Those playing on PS5 Pro will experience even better graphics and sound, with additional support for DualSense controller features, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
For new players, Days Gone Remastered will be available for $49.99 on PS5. Pre-orders open tomorrow, and those who purchase early will receive eight PSN avatars and five early in-game unlocks as bonuses.
