Skyforge, the sci-fi fantasy MMORPG co-developed by Allods Team and Obsidian Entertainment, will officially close its servers this fall. Publisher Innova (operating under 4game/My.Games) has confirmed a staged shutdown, beginning with the cessation of in-game purchases on August 1, 2025 for PC and August 4 for consoles. Servers will fully go offline on September 3 for PC (Steam and 4game) and on October 29 for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
Players will still have full access to the game world until the shutdown dates, with support maintained by the Skyforge team and planned in-game farewell events to mark the ending period.
A Decade of Divine Destiny on Aelion

Launched on PC in mid-July 2015 and later expanded to consoles in 2017 and Nintendo Switch in 2021, Skyforge allowed players to evolve from mortal champions into godlike beings defending the planet Aelion from cosmic threats. With a flexible prestige-based progression system and seamless class-switching, the game offered a dynamic and accessible MMORPG experience.
Though it never rivaled genre giants like Final Fantasy XIV or World of Warcraft, Skyforge cultivated a loyal niche audience drawn to its blend of cosmic mythos and action-driven gameplay.
Why the Sunset
Declining active users and shrinking revenue appear to be contributing factors. Steam data shows daily concurrent players fell below 100 as early as mid-2022, indicating stagnation in long-term engagement. Innova’s announcement attributes the decision simply to the IP holder’s directive without specifying detailed reasons.

Final Farewell and Legacy
In the weeks leading up to the shutdown, the Skyforge team plans limited-time events and opportunities for players to try advanced gear and content typically reserved for late-game progression. Support channels will remain open until servers go offline, after which in-game assets, accounts, and communities will become inaccessible.
Skyforge’s decade-long journey—from its 2015 launch to its 2025 sunset—serves as a reflection on the challenges of maintaining live-service titles in a competitive market. Though the servers will soon shut down, the memories forged across Aelion’s battlefields and among its community will endure.
